Why we are building this

Your development shouldn't stall over a missing introduction.

Research access has always run on trust. A colleague makes an introduction, a guide makes a call, a door opens. It is a human system, and it works well when you are inside the loop. But from the outside, there is nobody to ask.

Nothing here is broken, and everything happening is natural. But when we are chasing excellence, the natural way slows us down.

Finding it

No single place tells you which lab near you has the instrument, whether it is working, and whether they would be open to sharing it.

Reaching it

Access moves through people. If you are new, independent, or outside the institute, relying on the usual process creates inevitable friction.

Keeping pace

Introductions, approvals, and paperwork turn one afternoon of measurement into several weeks. The work does not stop. It slows down, and then it stalls.

The catalogue is not the problem. Reachability is.

India's research capacity is already documented on government and institute portals. You can look up exactly where a machine lives. But a directory is not access. Listings are rarely updated to show real-time availability. Finding a machine online is easy, but without knowing the right person, getting on the actual schedule stays theoretical.

Already catalogued across more than 1,800 institutions on I-STEM. The inventory is public, but a listed machine does not mean a working or available machine. The pathway to actually use the equipment remains closed.

Nobody should need to be well connected to do good work.

One instrument would have answered it. We just didn't know anyone who had one.

Time and again, I have watched brilliant hardware projects stall simply because a team couldn't secure a single afternoon on the right measurement tool. Without the right institutional network, you are forced to slow down, wait, and lose momentum.

ParallX exists so that a missing introduction is never the reason a good idea stalls.
